Community members have a fundraising campaign for children of aircraft plumper

Menomonie, Wisconsin (Weau) – Last month, people in Menomonia had to suffer a great loss after four were killed by their own in a plane crash in Trilla, IL.

On Sunday, the parishioners came together at Menomonie Airport to show their support for one of the married couples in the crash, Ross Nelson and Raimi Rundle.

The loss of the couple had his friends, family and community destroyed.

Ross Nelson's sister Anne Priester explains what the day is about.

“Ross was my brother and Raimi like my sister. We remember both of them.” she said

The community came out to honor the couple as they collected money for the money left behind.

“We are here to remember their legacy. They know that they should continue and then support their three children.” she said.

The children of Ross and Raimi lost their parents aged 12, nine and six years. So Priester hopes to collect money for your needs.

The event meant that hundreds of people showed support.

A friend of Ross and Raimi, Bruce Trimble, explains what they noticed after the facility.

“There was no one here at 3:00 a.m., cars arrived at 3:15 a.m., planes came in and it was a great turnout. Fantastic turnout.” he said.

“Menomonia was fantastic, all of Dunn County, everyone who came out today or to donate to the fundraiser was incredible.” she said.

The fundraising campaign met especially nearby and organized them in a place that meant a lot to the couple.

“You love it here. This was your father's hanger. And so you spent a lot of time here, you know a lot of people, you know many of the pilots.” she said.

While he was collecting money for the future of the children and organizers such as Trimble, Jakey Zyler, Ron, Reuben and Kylee Riek hopes to keep Ross and Raimi in their hearts.

“We are grateful for every moment we were allowed to spend with them.” Kylee Riek said.

“Ross loved aviation, we know that he would be proud of everyone today.” Said Ron Riek.

While you keep them in the hearts of everyone, their children will also know a very important thing.

“Your parents were great, we want to show them that all their parents loved.” Priest said: “We have all of these memories and we have all of these stories, and we want children to hear that we want them to remember how they know how incredible their parents were.”

Many people who took part in the fundraising campaign flew between a radius of 25 to 100 miles to show support for their flying community.
