“I wish I had said more” – when Justin admitted to silence about Astros “2017 fraud scandal

The Houston Astros always has to live with the fraudulent scandal that affected their 2017 season, but it is clear that they were ready to risk everything for a World Series title. The Astros are now sitting at 24-22 and fighting to stay in the post-season race.

One of the players from the victories of the World Series 2017 and 2022 was Justin Belander, a starting jug that remained calm almost a decade ago during the team's fraud scandal.

Justin Belonged admitted that he knew what was going on

Now with the San Francisco Giants, Belander has played for four teams since the beginning of his MLB career in 2005. The 42-year-old still earns a salary check and plays in the big leagues, although he has been in his third team since 2023.

In 2020, Reporter Belander asked about the World Series Run of the Astros 2017 and what happened behind the scenes. He started the Tigers this season before he was traded to Houston who won everything. Detroit received an edition of prospects in return. Years later, refugee spoke about the situation:

“When I spent some time there, I understood what happened and I wish I had said more. Looking back, I can't go back and reverse my decision. I wish I had said more, and I wasn't sorry for that.”

When asked what he said at the time, refurbished: “This is between me and my teammates” and denied all claims that he knew the Astros reputation when he arrived there.

When he was reaction to the fraud, he said: “I don't want to go into too many details. I think we are here today to apologize as a team. I think these funds have been expressed by everyone here today.”

He ended the interview with the statement: “As a team, we expressed remorse, and I will leave it.”

No matter how many all-star nods or Cy Young's hinges, the scandal will always be a flaw in its recording.

It might not have been completely or at all, but in the interview he made it clear that he could have spoken and decided. Everyone has moments they look back and wish that they had handled differently. This is clearly as one for the Al MVP 2011.
