Woman who was killed in the car accident with MBTA commuter train train in Abington

A woman was killed on Wednesday after driving an SUV onto the commuter railway tracks in Abington and joined by a train, the MBTA Transit police confirmed.

The crash occurred around 12 p.m. near the 242 Center St., said the transit police superintendent Richard Sullivan in an e -mail. This address is opposite the Abnington Station, which is located on the Kingston line.

The first examination suggests that the woman drove to the railway tracks, although the safety rods are no longer and the warning system is fully committed, said Sullivan. Several witnesses informed WCVB that they heard the horn of the train before the crash and screamed.
