Prosper requests 370,000 US dollars to increase the instruments for contraception of crime

Prosper could receive funds from a scholarship to prevent crime.

Prosper Town Council approved the application for Catalytic Converter Task Force Grant of the motor vehicle criminal office authority.

The approval was part of the Council's consent on May 13th.

The details

The authority for motor vehicles crime announced the opening of the application process for the opening of the funding financing. The application deadline is May 23.

City officials in their grant want the potential means for:

• Four herd pendants for $ 100,000
• Transport analysis at 7,500 USD
• Vehicle -Tracker subscription for 3,600 US dollars
• 16 automated license plates and 12 cameras for 120,200 US dollars
• Herd 911 at $ 8,500

The Prosper Police Department also applied for overtime of 112,000 US dollars as well as travel and training at 20,000 US dollars.

The scholarship is used for refund. The city will initially finance all overtime, travel, training and equipment costs of the staff from the general fund, and MVCPA reimburses 80% of the legitimate expenses for approval.

Prosper has received grants from MVCPA in the past. It received two grants from the Task Force Grant 2024 and 2025, according to the agenda of May 13th.

The scholarship for the 2024 financial year was $ 99,166 and the grants received for the 2025 $ 88,250 financial year. The grants were used for four herd pendants, transport ores, vehicle trackers and other herd equipment.
