Brownsville Crash leaves 1 dead

Brownsville, Ky. – A fatal crash leaves a woman in Edmonson County.

According to WNKY News 40 Partners, The Edmonson Voice, the Sheriff's office of Edmonson County reacted to an accident with two vehicles in South Main Street on Friday at 7:27 p.m.

According to ECSO, Kristopher McCombs, 45, from Segal, drove south on the Main Street when his vehicle exceeded the center line in the way of a vehicle, which was driven by Sheila Vanmeter, 67, from Brownsville. Vanmeter traveled north. The two vehicles collided head -on and rested near Webb's Eats & Treats Restaurant.

Vanmeter was brought to the medical center in Bowling Green for the treatment of life -threatening injuries. Vanmeter was declared dead in the hospital.

According to ECSO, McCombs rejected medical treatment.

The examination continues.
