Spoiler alarm! We discuss the end of “final target blood lines” (now in the cinemas). Stop reading now when you haven't seen it yet and don't want to know.

“Final Destination Bloodlines” could be the first film in the series to make fans cry.

The new entry in the long-term horror franchise serves as a Swan song for Tony Todd, the beloved “Candyman” star, who died in November at the age of 69. Todd has played the mysterious corpse stock William Bludworth, which returns to the original “final goal of 2000”, and he returns to the original “final goal” to give “Bloodlines” one last time to cheat.

But in a moving last scene, Todd's character reveals that he is sick and retires to make the best of his remaining days before death. “Life is precious,” he says, adding that it is important to enjoy at any moment because you never know when you will die.

After Todd's death, the words take up an emotional second meaning and play like a farewell message from the actor himself, and that is not accidental. The directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein were aware that Todd was sick during work on the film and that the scene had created to say goodbye to him.

“Everyone knew that it would be that this would be his last 'final destination' film and possibly his last film ever,” says Lipovsky. “We have had a lot of conversations about how to do it that it felt like a really nice farewell to such an icon and, in a way, give him the opportunity to say goodbye to the audience.”

For Bludworth's last words, the directors encouraged Todd to ignore what was on the side and to express his own thoughts about the meaning of life and death.

“We asked Tony to put the script aside and simply talk from the heart about what it is all about,” says Stein. “What is life about? What about death? What should the fans get away when they see 'Final Destination'? And the take that is in the film speaks from the heart and really speaks to the fans.”

Although he was “physically weak”, Todd was “incredibly excited to take part in the film” and insisted that it was locked up, Stein recalls. “He said: 'Don't write to me from this film!' “

Who is William Bludworth in 'Final Destination'? Is he courage?

Todd's scene finally answers the greatest persistent puzzle of the “Final Destination” series: Who exactly is Bludworth and how does he know so much about death?

After years of fan theories – including a popular one he himself – the film reveals that Bludworth is an expert on this topic because he cheated on death decades ago. Bludworth was saved as a child when Iris (BREC Bassinger/Gabrielle Rose), Stefanis Grandmutter (Kaitlyn Santa Juana), prevented a tower collapse. Since then he has been marked for death, similar to all the characters he advised in the previous films. But because Iris died in front of him in line, Bludworth would be sure as long as she stayed alive.

Todd was “very excited” to explain Bludworth's origin “, so that he did more of one person than just being a mysterious mentorf figure,” says Stein.

In previous films, Bludworth gave advice on the teenager marked for death. “Bloodlines” suggests that these encounters for Bludworth were an opportunity to test his theories about the fraud of death because the same thing happened to him.

“He probably collected intelligence,” explains Stein, noting that the guidelines for the fraud of death that Iris gives her granddaughter is something she and Bludworth collected together. “They shared details of all the deaths that took place in the previous films as research after avoiding death.”

Despite the bad health of Todd, the star on the set was “incredibly happy” and held a kick from meeting the actors who played his younger self and the mother of his character. “He says 'I get to know my mom!' “The director remembers.

Lipovsky hopes that Todd's farewell will be cathartic if fans still mourn the loss of a horror icon.

“Anyone who at this moment has felt grief for the loss of him as an artist may feel a certain closure and a connection to him because he really was to bring it onto the screen.”

Is 'Final Destination Bloodlines' the last film in the series?

The death of each main character at the end of a film would usually rule out a sequel, but not in “Final Destination”.

Although Stefani, her mother and her brother are killed at the end of “Bloodlines”, it is certain that the film at the box office cuts off well.

But there is a loose end in which the next film could track: Bludworth confirms Kimberly Corman (AJ Cook), the visionary of “Final Destination 2”, successfully cheated on death and opened the possibility of her return for a future sequel – possibly even to become a mentor as a mentor for the next group of teen heard.
