“Death County, Pa.” EP 5 – The lights go out in prison, in which occupants continue to die

On the lower floor of the Dauphin County prison, inmates are sent for punishment. And it was out of control down there.

Smoke was everywhere. The occupants smoked synthetic marijuana at all day hours. Prison manager tried to stop. The prison took away the inmates, legal papers and even some of their clothing. But the smoke continued to fill the cells. Some employees said the medication were smuggled by other employees.

The leaders of the prison even have something shocking to the people who know how many people had died in prison recently:

They switched off the lights and heat them on the entire floor. And lasted it for 17 days.

In Episode 5 by “Death County, PA”. We learn why. Prison manager believed that prisoners used the sales outlets and light socks to illuminate them. However, this approach came in the center of Pennsylvania in the cold days of December.

“What are you doing? You are sitting in your head all day,” said an inmate. “Now you tell me: is that good for someone who is already mentally desperate? It can't be. I think they only used it as a tool to let us suffer because they couldn't control the smuggling in their prison, so we suffer for it.”

This was not the last time that power in prison would go out. And when it happened again – something surprising happened.

In Episode 5, local guides bring many under suspicions between 2019 and 2024 to the prison in which 19 people died.
