A 22-year-old man from de Soto, Missouri, was killed on Saturday evening in an accident with a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle at the intersection of the Highway 61 and the Herky Horine Road in Jefferson County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on May 17th at 10:33 p.m. A 2023 Honda CRB1000RR drove on the Highway 61 at high speed when it approached the intersection. A 2018 BUICK-Encore 2018, which was driven by a 67-year-old man from High Ridge, Missouri, was stopped on the stop sign on Horky Horine Road in the east on Highway 61.

Soldiers said the driver of the Buick had not seen the approaching motorcycle and began to bend on the left to Highway 61 to the north and to move in the way of the Honda. The front of the motorcycle hit the left side of the Buick and excluded the driver.

The motorcyclist who was wearing a helmet was declared dead by Joachim-Plattin at 10.40 p.m. by the outpatient clinic staff.

Both vehicles were dragged over and towed through McCains as a whole.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol was supported by Pevely Police Department Officers, Herculaneum Police Department Officers, Trooper da Norton and Trooper Cl Kurtzman.
