Man who killed the beloved delivery driver after almost 40 years to maintain probation

The man, who killed a beloved 75-year-old delivery driver in 1985, was proven after almost 40 years of prison.

On November 14, 1985, Frederick Slavin worked as a delivery driver for a package business in Lowell. He had worked there for two decades and was known as “pops”.

It was generally known that Slavin redeemed the checks for customers and, according to the probation committee, often had large amounts of money.

On the day of the murder, Slavin went to an office building in Lowell to deliver a beer on that day from an unidentified caller. However, the delivery call was a rouse to lure Slavin to the area and rob him of it, according to the probation helper.

Slavin's body was later found in a sparse behind the building. A heavy head trauma was added with a blunt instrument. His bags were rotated and empty from the outside.

The police found a brown bag near Slavins body with several thousand dollars.

The 19-year-old Raymond Grenier was brought to the Lowell police station to give an explanation of his activities earlier a day. The question lasted at night and Grenier agreed to test for traces of blood. Traces of blood that corresponded to Slavins were found on Grenier's hands, the hairline and the soles of his sneakers.

Grenier was convicted on February 5, 1987 for the first degree murder and armed robberies after he was in front of the Supreme Court of Middlesex before a court proceedings. He was sentenced to life imprisonment without probation.

According to a recent decision by the Supreme Court that states between the ages of 18 and 20 cannot be sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of probation, but he received a probation that states cannot be condemned to live in prison. Due to the decision, Grenier was able to go to the probation workers for the first time in January.

After 39 years, he has completed several programs, including reduction in violence, emotional awareness and Jericho Circle. He is employed by Mci-Norfolk and earned his own in 1995. He has been a disciplinary report for about nine years.

He continues to tell the probation committee that he is innocent.

Several people spoke to the support of Grenier, who became probation, while family members spoke of Slavin.

On May 14th, after a six -month step into a lower security prison, he received a probation for an approved home plan. However, the board was divided into the decision. Three people voted for the refusal of probation and have another review in two years, while four people voted to grant them.

Grenier is monitored electronically for six months, monitoring drugs with tests and must have to adapt mental health advice.
