In 2023 there were 20 murders in Berks County, of which 17 took place in the city of Reading. In 2022 there were 23 murders in Berks, 15 of whom took place in reading. Weapons and these shootings contributed to a negative image in our region.

In 2024, the incidence of murders fell by 40%. The district prosecutor of Berks, John Adams, partially attributed this decline to the creation of Task Forces, which focused on arms.

The city of the gun gun in the city, the Decau office for probation and suspended weapons suppression and the arms criminal department of the district lawyer summarized in order to focus on reducing weapons.

Other communal organizations support these efforts to reduce gun power. With the support of the state government, the Reading Hospital has created a trauma change of power.

There is more work to do. Find out to us to learn more about what is being done to fight for weapons by district attorney John Adams, Dan Heydt, head of Berks Probation and Parole, and Elias Vazquez, the chief of police Reading.
