The 18-year-old, who was killed on Cape Cod during the after-Prom crash, identified by relatives

Just an hour after leaving her Senior Prom on Saturday evening, an 18-year-old student of Falmouth High School died in a rollover car accident.

According to WCVB and Boston 25, Ava Lodico was identified by their friends and family as a young woman.

Lodico drove on the Acapesket Road at around 11 p.m. when her Range Rover SUV rolled and scored a tree, then fire caught, reported Capecod.com.

Due to the weather, Lodico could not be taken to the hospital with the helicopter, said the outlet, and she later died in Falmouth Hospital.

Her senior final ball, which was recorded “Garden of Lights” and in the Coonamesset Inn, ended only an hour earlier. The crash occurred only 10 minutes from the prom location.

“We all just danced and had a great time at the prom,” said a friend of Lodico, Erin Barr, to Boston 25.

“It is only so annoying that this happens and extremely surreal … it was only the sweetest soul for everyone,” said Barr.

According to a statement on Facebook from the Falmouth police department, the advice was made available to the students on Sunday and Monday. The department and the Falmouth High School did not immediately react to Masslive for a comment.

One of the friends of Lodico, Jazzy Fernandes, said she received a call about Lodico's crash on Saturday evening, Boston 25.

She tried to crash, but it was tied up and found that Lodico died when she came to the hospital.

Fernandes said to the outlet: “It doesn't feel real.”

Another close friend of Lodico, Bea Mariani, said the two of them had planned their final ceremony and just created their invitation list, said the outlet. Mariani took back the first boat from Martha's vineyard when she heard about her friend's death.

The examination of the crash continues and one thing has not yet been publicly identified by Monday morning.
