Officials said the press conference would include comments from supporters of immigration rights and people and directly affected by people and directly from the latest ice activities in the Charlotte region.

WBTV reported several ice encounters last week, including one near a Charlotte primary and middle school.

On May 12th, officials of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District said that it was reported that “federal immigration agents near Charlotte East Language Academy took a man in custody.”

The parents said WBTV outside the camera that they were not surprised by the successful ice detention near the school, as they heard from other ice confrontations in other schools in the region.

The school authority of the district made it clear that the federal immigration agents did not yet “try to sit on CMS ownership”.
