Storm death sacrifice up to 19

According to Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, at least 19 people died of the storm, who drove through Kentucky last weekend.

On May 16, Besear declared a state of emergency in expectation of the storm. Initially, Besear reported 18 deaths, 17 of whom were in Laurel County, where a Tornado, according to Beshear and the Fiscal Court of Laurel County and one ended up in Pulaski County. Last night, May 18, Beshear went to his social media account to report a woman in Russell County who died. To bring the total amount to 19.

“Please pray with Great Britain and me for the families who are just injured,” Besear wrote on social media.

He also reported that ten people are treated in the Kentucky University Hospital for their injuries. Three of them remain in a critical condition, four were upgraded to “fair” and three to “good”.

The governor encouraged people to donate the Kentucky Storm Relief Fund Team, which will help pay the funeral costs and “affected by storm systems”.

Garland Gilliam, the emergency management of Barren County, said that Barren County saved the worst because there were only reports of trees about streets and power outages during the storm, but no reported deaths in the district. He added that four of the 28 Tornado sirens of the district were not activated during the time when the district was under a tornado warning.
