New video published by Mahmoud Khalil's arrest

(Kalb/CNN) – Newly published video shows the minutes before the arrest of the graduates of Columbia University and the Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil, which is currently taking place in the ICE Detention Center in Jena.

On the day of his arrest in March, the video shows the lobby of Khalil's apartment building of the campus. His legal team said that the film material contradicts the government's claim that Khalil was a risk of flours that the officials said that he had justified the lack of an arrest warrant.

These problems are of central importance in Khalil's case and question the legality of its ongoing detention.

According to the government, Khalil said before his arrest that he would not work together and left the scene. The agent believed that there was a fluid risk and arrested him.

While the video that has been preserved via CNN does not contain an audio, Khalil's legal team said that the video does not show an obvious attempt to flee or cooperate.
