LSU football trend for Texas Longhorns, Florida Gator's defensive line destination

Lafayette (La.) Acadiana four-star defender Darryus McKinley continues to navigate in a strict recruitment process with several SEC programs that arouse his interest.

The Bayou -State -born has four schools after unveiling his finalists with the LSU tigers in March.

McKinley, a top 10-prospect in Louisiana, is in the middle of his senior campaign in the middle of an important off-season in 2025, in which he identified the competitors in his process.

The Prospect of 2026 listed the LSU Tigers together with the volunteers of Florida Gators, Texas Longhorns and Tennessee as his last four schools in which he will make every finalist official visits.

For Brian Kelly and the Bayou Bengals it is clear that the home town school has the advantage in its recruitment process with family ties in Baton Rouge.

McKinley's older brother, Dominick, is a second defender for the tigers, of whom LSU wants to keep the pair of siblings in the boot.

The 6-foot 3, 270 pounder is a talented view in recruitment class 2026, whereby the LSU remains a team that he observed in his process.

“The environment in the LSU was very hype and was a great time with the coaches and the other recruits,” McKinley told On3 Sports. “The role that I am most excited about at LSU is with my brother while he's there.”

McKinley will now try to block his official visit with the LSU Tigers nearby in the summer months, but it is clear that the Bayou -Bengals are increasing.

LSU has a trio of expert forecasts for McKinley to land in the 2026 recruitment cycle, with Steve Wiltfong from On3 Sports, Shea Dixon and Jerit Roser place their picks.

Now that the summer months are closer, Kelly and the Bayou Bengals will try to include the talented defender. According to On3 Sports, McKinley determined a date of commitment on November 8th.

LSU holds recruitment class No. 1 in the 2026 cycle with almost double -digit obligations that have been promised to the program.

Hall is classified as number 4 of the overall players in Louisiana and as a top 75 view in America.

Jabari Mack: No. 1 WR in Louisiana

Mack, number 1 in Louisiana, is classified as a top 10 recipient in America, with Kellys Crew wins for his services.

The LSU acquired the promise of the Texas Longhorns, Ohio State Buceyes and Texas A & M Aggies.

The 6-foot-1, 200 pounder is still one of the most sought-after prospects in America, with the Bayou Bengals landing.

Havon Finney: Top 10 defensive in America

Dylan Purter: No. 2 evaluates the defensive in Alabama

Purter, the No. 2, rated the defensive in Alabama, chose Bayou Bengals because of the Crimson Tide, Florida Gator and the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Purter, a 6-foot 1-175 pounder with enormous versatility in the defensive backfield, can cover both as cornerback and safety on the next level.

Gonzales (La.) Eastern Aid of Four Star Offensive Brysten Martinez has hired Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers, he announced on February 13. It is rated as an offensive stackle No. 8 in America and is a top 75 overall brochure in the recruitment cycle 2026.
