Diakoness emphasizes the month of stroke awareness

Warrick Co., Ind. (Wfie) – The month of May marks the month of Stroke Awareness Month and in Warrick County the Deaconess Hospital is spreading the floor.

According to the CDC, lines are one of the main causes in America.

The Deaconess Hospital does what it can do to keep these numbers on a minimum.

The hospital says that it is the only one who offers a comprehensive nursing services within a radius of 100 miles.

They gave a tour through their catheter laboratory, a special facility used for lines to target and remove blood clots.

Dr. James Gebel emphasized the importance of the care center.

“We want to do everything we can to find out why the stroke happened, where the clot comes from and what we can do with medication or other treatments in order to minimize the risk that someone is repeated at deaconess,” said Dr. Bel.

Doctors warn people of signs of a stroke, the sudden, smooth language, impaired function in half of their body and problems in one or both eyes.
