The new AI tool from Crime Stopers offers immediate security information for parents

SAN ANTONIO – Whitney Lawson has two small children, five and four years old.

“They are small, but that changes quickly, so I think that it is important for every parent that every parent is one step ahead,” said Lawson.

Lawson remains on questions that you now affect and can influence you in the future.

In the Crime Stopper of the new Young Professional Board from Houston, she is an insight into the needs of children and their security.

That is why Lawson already knows that Crime Stopers of Houston has put together information on at least 16 security issues that you present schools nationwide.

The topics include mental health, online security, bullying, violence in teenage age, substance use, trade, sextivation and healthy relationships.

With the help of Phillips 66, Crime Stopers published a brand new tool for artificial intelligence in May, with which in seconds to access all this compiled information.

“You can type, 'I am a parent who helps mental health, and then you immediately get information about how you talk to your child how to contact your children's teachers, how to block words that do not listen to or watch your children,” said Lawson.

The tool is referred to as a safe text.

Every adult can do 901-4-safety SMS SMS of 901-402-3389.

“You just type” Hello “. You can also write 'Hola' if you want her in Spanish.

Carlson said the most popular search was cyber security.

“There are YouTube and tablets and all this access to technology. And unfortunately it is not set up to protect our children. So the parents have to learn a lot to find out, ok, what are the best security settings? Said Carlson.

Carlson said it was important to use the moment when children pay attention to a conversation about security issues.

“If you are in the middle of this conversation, we don't want to take the time to watch and scroll the websites because you will lose interest,” she said.

Parents like Lawson agree that the tool can take stress away.

“I think it is overwhelming to know where to start. If you know that it comes from Crime Stopers, you know that it is factual – and you know that law enforcement authorities, educators, child psychologists, etc. have your stamp of approval, then I do not have to go around on the platform to platforms and use deductive thinking,” said Lawson.

At the moment, secure text is only intended for adults, since some facts give information that may not be age -appropriate for young children.

Carlson said they are developing a safe text version for children and teenagers, so that the information they immediately receive are appropriate for their age.
