Tigers place Reese Olson on the injured list, call the right -handed man from Toledo

The Detroit Tigers brought the starting jug Reese Olson to the 15-day injured list with right-wing ring finger infection.

At his last start on Saturday in Toronto, Olson only allowed one goal over six goalless innings. He could probably have set up another inning, but could have assumed 85 parking spaces due to the finger problem.

After the game, Olson expressed confidence that the injury was not serious, but the Tigers decided on a short-term IL stint, similar to the step of last week with Casey Mize.

In order to take Olson's place on the active squad, the Tigers remembered the right-handed reliever chase Lee from Triple-A Toledo.

As it looks, the Tiger are planning on Monday, Keider Montero, Tarik Skubal, on Tuesday and employed a Bullpen game on Wednesday in St. Louis, the Detroit News reported. However, the weather could be a factor on Monday and possibly on Tuesday, so these plans remain in the river.

At the moment, Jack Flaherty is scheduled to start on Thursday in Detroit against Cleveland Guardians, which was Olson's next planned start.

Montero's next round in the rotation would come on Saturday, until that time Mize should be ready to return from the IL. The tigers were able to keep Montero in the rotation in Olson's slot or turn to another option.

Olson, 25, is 4-3 with an ERA of 2.96 ERA (2.94 FIP) in nine starts (48 2/3 innerings) this year. He beat 51 and ran 19.

The 26 -year -old Lee came between Toledo and Detroit several times in his rookie season. In eight appearances in the big leagues, Lee has a 1.00 ERA over nine innings with four walks and nine strikeouts.
