The church identifies pastor as a man who was killed when shooting in Camden County. His grandson was injured

Camden County, Fla. – The man who was shot in Camden County on Sunday was served as a pastor in a church in Woodbine.

According to the first Baptist Church of Harriets Bluff, the man who was shot is known in the community as “Pastor Joe”, and the child who was shot in his arm was his grandson.

“Pastor Joe was a loyal man of God and an accomplished Bible teacher in our church. He is very missing,” wrote the church.

On Sunday around 1 p.m., the MPs of Camden County said that they reacted to a shootout near Harrietts Bluff Road.

When they arrived at the scene, they found a man and a child with gunshot wounds.

Pastor Joe was taken to the hospital, but died later.

The grandson was operated on for his injuries and, according to the church, will probably be okay.

When News4jax was on site on Sunday, he spoke to a man who identified himself as the father of the child and the son of the man who was killed.

He told us that he didn't understand why his father and son were in this neighborhood.

The MPs of Camden County said on Sunday that there were no arrests in connection with the shootout, and added that the community gave no continuing threat.

The church also provided this link to buy meals that are delivered to the family of the pastor.
