A man who was suspected in a chemical stimulus attack in the private sale of a shoe business was shot by the Santa Monica business owner on Sunday evening.

The officials reacted to Sole & Laces on the third Street Promenade after a shooting report and an attack with a fatal weapon had attacked. The business owner organized a private sale after business time when someone entered the shop and the owner stated with what the police called a chemical stimulant.

Details about the chemical were not immediately available, but the authorities said it was a kind of spray.

“A fight followed, and the victim in the possession of a legally obsessed firearm shot the suspect,” said the Santa Monica police in a statement.

The man suspected in the believers died in a hospital. The owner was not injured and works with the examination.

The employee who arranged the sale was arrested in connection with the robbery attempt, the police said. According to the Santa Monica police, he was identified as 41-year-old Karen Melikyan from Hollywood. He is charged with murder, robbery and conspiracy.

“All evidence indicates that this was a targeted incident, the people are known to each other,” said the Santa Monica police. “There is no persistent threat to the public.”
