Widow of the contractor who were killed in the customer's house

Harris County, Texas (KTRK) – A bizarre murder in North Harris County on Friday devastated a widow and her little children.

Luis Silva Mendez installed kitchen cabinets in the house of a customer when he was killed.

“Pappa, Pappa. He always calls for his father,” said Orfila Sara Lopez by tears while watching her 2-year-old son. The last time the Luis Silva Mendoza family was on Friday morning, he drove in his silver F150 truck to work at a long-standing customer at home.

“That morning he gave me a lot of kisses and told me he loved me very much,” she said in Spanish. “As if he had the feeling that something would happen.”

Hours later, the investigators say that Steven Eberly, who lived in the 4000 block of Tim Allen Drive in the house, would attack and kill Silva. Neighbors say that Silva worked as Eberly's girlfriend for the owner of the house in court documents.

The events on Friday took a more bizarre turn when the investigators claimed that, after killed Silva, Eberly found another person who helped him move some boxes. Records show that witness saw the body in panic, then jumped into Silva's work car and started. Eberly apparently jumped into the back of the work trailer.

The truck quickly fell from the house for a few minutes. Detective Silva's body would soon find in the box and capture Eberly. He is now charged with murder and two additional charges.

During his initial jurisdiction, the prosecutors claimed that Eberly had stabbed Silva, and then tried to throw the knife and Silva's phone away. It is now recorded a bond of $ 2 million.

“I don't know what to do. He was the breadwinner,” said the widow, who tries to find out how he can grow up a 2-year-old and a 7-year-old alone.
