The unexpected Kate Martin decision by Valkyries is the trend

When the Valkyries from Golden State Kate Martin took the Las Vegas Aces expansion draft, there were high expectations that it would play a larger role in the team.

In the off -season, however, the possibility that Martin played a bank and fought for minutes against other guards on the squad. After all, the Valkyries also have both Tiffany Hayes and Julie Vanloo.

This possibility continued to increase when Martin did not begin in her first pre -season game against the Los Angeles Sparks. She also missed her second pre -season showdown against the Connecticut Sun, which made her unlikely that she would get a starting role.

Nevertheless, it was a surprise when the WalkUne Martin commissioned Martin on Friday for their first regular game of the season in franchise history.

Martin had the start alongside Hayes, Temi Fagbenle, Kayla Thornton and Veronica Burton when they sat down against the sparks.
