Off-Duty Los Angeles County Sheriff's representative killed in the crash on the San Francisquito Canyon Road in Santa Clarita

Santa Clarita, California (KABC) – A member of the sheriff of the sheriff from Los Angeles County was killed in an accident in Santa Clarita early Monday morning, confirmed the department.

The crash occurred around 3:17 a.m. in the San Francisquito Canyon Road, said Lasd.

The 21-year-old MP was brought to the Henry Mayo Hospital, where he later died.

“We are broken by the tragic loss of one of our own with broken heart, which was removed too early,” said Sheriff Robert G. Luna.

The deputy joined the ladde in May 2024 and was assigned to North County's correctional facility.

The California Highway Patrol examines the fatal crash.

Further details about what exactly led to the crash were not immediately available. Lasd said they checked the work plan and the background of the MP to determine whether he may go or drove to work.
