Petrobras makes the oil finding in the Santos basin

Petrobras said it found oil in the pre-salt layer in Santos Basin in an exploratory borehole in the Aram block off the coast of Brazil.

Well 3-BRSA-1396D-SSSS is 248 km from the city of Santos, São Paulo, at a water depth of 1,952 m. The holes were completed and the oil application interval was confirmed by electrical profiles, gas traces and fluid scanning.

“This is the second discovery in the same block, according to the excellent result, which was already achieved in another exploratory fountain at the beginning of the year, where we found excellent oil,” said the CEO of Petrobras, Magda Chambriard,.

Petrobras plans to analyze the discovery, drill two more wells and carry out a formation test. It can also try to collect more data.

The Aram block was taken over in March 2020. Petrobras is the operator of the block and, in cooperation with CNPC (20%), holds a share of 80%.

VEX closes the acquisition of Oklahoma assets

Libya's most recent round of offers draws more than 40 applicants

Rhino Resources, Halliburton delivers two Wells Offshore Namibia

Rhino Resources and Halliburton announced the delivery of two exploration fountains to Block 2914 in the Petroleum Exploration License 85 Offshore -Namibia. The wells are the first to be completed exclusively from infrastructure in countries by the newly established company base from Halliburton in Walvis Bay, Swakopmund and Lüderitz.

“This success is an example of what is possible when first-class technology, local cooperation and a common long-term vision come together,” said Antoine Berel, Vice President of Halliburton Subsahara Africa. “Our newly established infrastructure in all of Namibia enabled this discovery, which will help to unlock the energy potential of Namibia and to build up the ability to support the future of the country as an energy center in Africa.”
