Why sons of Neannacht, New Hong Kong Crime Movie from Juno Mak, took 8 years to do it

For someone who hardly slept a wink last night, Juno Mak Chunlung seems to be in a surprisingly high mood. How could he not be after seeing how he made his latest film at the world's most important film festival?

The premiere of Sons of the NOnnacht In Cannes on May 16, the highlight of almost eight years of work, says the 41-year-old Hong Kong musician filmmaker, and he was relieved to see the film game in the Lumiere Theater, the main town of the festival, which took place annually at the French Riviera.

The main speed for the film was already a preview of Hong Kong at the time when Christian Jeune, director of the festival's film department, was previewed in 2018, but because the processing had not started, Jeune was only shown “daily newspapers” – RAW, unprocessed footage.

Post -production was concluded during the pandemic, according to which the film's sales workshop, which was co -founded by the experienced Mover -Mover Shi industry in Hong Kong, again turned to film festivals.

“In March we finally received the call from Cannes about the selection of the film at the festival this year,” says Mak of the Post.
