Octopus RAW Studio improves the raw video workflow in the Adobe premiere

Octopus Raw Studio is a plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro that offers a better workflow for ProRes RAW and Cinemadng film material. It has a tailor -made and configurable raw pipeline that reveals a variety of raw parameters and characteristics such as ISO and WB adjustment, highlighting the restoration, textures and much more.

Apart from the partially exposed Blackmagic Raw, which has had an affordable opportunity for years to enter into raw videos, I have the feeling that internal raw videos are finally democratized and are increasingly affordable camera models.

You may remember the Octopus cinema from one of my previous article. The company based in the UK is currently developing its digital camera, Octopus16. As Russell Newman from Octopus Cinema (OC) said, you are now in the last phases of production with Octopus16. You have updated the processor (calculation module 4 for calculating module 5) for the internal 4K 60FPS raw video.

In the meantime, OC recently launched the plugin mentioned above for a better raw video workflow in the Adobe Premiere Pro called Octopus Raw Studio. Let's take a look at the details.

Octopus Raw Studio

The integrated raw video panel in Premiere Pro offers only basic adjustments such as exposure and color. There is currently no way to carry out the white balance, ISO or a highlight.

The Octopus RAW Studio offers a tailor -made and configurable raw pipeline that reveals a variety of raw parameters and functions. As OC puts it, your RAW Studio Premiere's Rohvideo handling takes the measure of dedicated sorting software such as Davinci Resolve.

The plugin works with PRORES RAW and Cinemadng formats. It adds the possibility to set WB and ISO and use the Highlight Recovery to get access to a wider dynamic area.
