The trade in Lillard, if he might not play a torn Achilles next season, would not help the suns in 2025-26. That is the point.

After regaining control over their 2026 First-Rounder (and 2027) in the previous deal, they were able to treat the next season as a GAP year. Then, in this hypothetical scenario, in 2026-27 you would enter Jabari Smith Jr. with a core of Booker, Lillard in a running contract, whoever in June in 10th place and another higher selection in the first round. They also have their own 2027 First-Runder and the Bucks in 2031. What the suns do from there is up to them.
