Trump holds back his demand, Russia explains a ceasefire in Ukraine

President Trump supported his demand on Monday that Russia in Ukraine declares an immediate ceasefire and instead President Vladimir V Putin's call for negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.

After a two -hour call with Mr. Putin, Mr. Trump said that the Russian leader had agreed to start “immediately” with direct negotiations with Ukraine to a ceasefire and a wider peace agreement to terminate the war. He said the conditions were negotiated directly between the warfare countries “because they know details of a negotiation that no one else knows.”

It was a shift by Mr. Trump's most recent threat of more pressure on Russia, for example when he increased the prospect of new banking clips in April because Mr. Putin may not want to stop war and “have to be treated differently”.

Mr. Trump also seemed enthusiastic to give up his placement role of a higher power: the Pope. In his explanation, Mr. Trump said that the Vatican was interested in expressing the upcoming negotiations and asked: “Let the process begin!”

While Mr. Trump presented the beginning of the peace talks as a license of Mr. Putin, he largely supported Mr. Putin's own approach because Russia reacted to calls to stop the fights by proposing extended negotiations.

Now Mr. Trump seems to be ready to withdraw and demand Russia and Ukraine to make a deal directly with each other. President Volodymyr Zelensky from Ukraine commented on it and said on Monday, after holding two calls with Mr. Trump that “the negotiating process must be involved in both American and European representatives at the appropriate level”.
