An invoice in Florida that would require collision repairs to receive crash reports before attaching your vehicle was withdrawn.

The draft law SB 92 previously passed the Senate Committee on Trade and the Central Committee for Agriculture, Environment and General government in March.

After a reference check, it was returned to the appropriation committee, where it was postponed indefinitely and withdrawn from the exam.

Senator Joe Gruders (R-Sarasota) has repeated SB 92 on December 10th of the 2023 meeting.

The invoice uses the same title, “Lilly Glaubach Act” as SB 194who was submitted by Gruders in 2023 but was not successfully adopted. Both invoices are in honor of Lily Glaubach, 13 who died after an accident.

It later turned out that the driver had convicted of killing her, David Chang, brought his car to a repair center immediately after the girl's beating and told the employees that a fallen tree damaged the vehicle.

The invoice required repair workers to apply for a written crash report after an estimate for repairing a vehicle that was involved in a collision led to damage to $ 2,500 or more.

If the bill had progressed and a customer had not made a crash report available, the shop would have had to transfer a copy of the repair estimate to a database held by the law enforcement authorities within three working days after the estimate has been completed.

Repair workshops would also have been exposed if their registration had been revoked by the state if he had violated the law if it had been said goodbye.

The executive director of Florida Auto Body Association (FABA), ILDI Coary, said beforehand that most collision invoices, often for smaller fagle bend, cost more than 2,500 US dollars. He said the invoice had prevented consumers from paying out of their own pocket to avoid more insurance premiums.

Faba also sent a letter to the legislator who spoke out against SB 92 and his companion. HB 807who received a vote in no committee and was also withdrawn on May 3.
