If you ward for no competition to kill roommates and cover up crimes

A Warren man who was accused of killing his roommate and throwing his body north almost two years ago entered a plea on Monday.

The 26-year-old Donald Dawan Renfroe did not advocate a second degree murder, manipulated evidence, hid the death of a person and crimes that result from the murder of James Wilkins.

The background story:

The 27 -year -old Wilkins was reported as missing in June 2023.

According to Pete Lucido, public prosecutor of Macomb County, the investigators searched the apartment that Wilkins had shared with Renfroe, and found that a shootout had taken place. The authorities said that Renfroe killed Wilkins and then moved the body with the help of a complicity, Darius Glenn.

Wilkins' body was found in Oscoda Township months later after Glenn led her. Lucido's office said Glenn, who was also charged with his alleged role in the crime, said Renfroe as part of a plea bargain.

“Mr. Wilkin's life was shortened in the apartment, which should have been his safe place. My office is the voice of the victim to do justice to this terrible act that stole the life of this victim and destroyed a family,” said Lucido.

What's next:

Renfroe will be convicted on July 7th.
