Alleged drunk drivers in a fatal crash now in ice custody

A driver who was accused of a fatal drunk accident in Minneapolis is now in ice custody. The White House put the case in the spotlight during its latest approach to immigration and tore the local authorities not to keep the suspect locked up. The public prosecutor's office of the Hennepin district described the actions of the federal government in this case as “over -control”.

Ecuador National in ice custody

What we know:

German Adriano Langari Inga is now in the Freeborn Co. prison in Albert Lea. Online records state that Langari Inga was arrested by the federal authorities over the weekend days after he missed a bond of $ 100,000 in his case of the state criminal vehicle murder.

The background story:

Langari Inga was first arrested last August after the prosecutors said that he had hit his head in an SUV in Minneapolis, killed the driver and injured two more. The crash occurred at the intersection of Lowry and James Avenues North. Langari Inga was finally released without being charged with the end of his 36-hour prison.

The public prosecutor's office finally charged the 35-year-old Ecuador National in early May, nine months after the crash. The public prosecutor said that his blood alcohol level was more than twice as high as the legal limit, and the police found open containers in his vehicle. Court documents said he also had no driver's license or insurance.

Load delay:

The Hennepin district said that the Minneapolis police filed the case in December after receiving the final toxicological reports in the case of the public prosecutor. In court, the public prosecutor also announced that the office received additional evidence in February. However, it remains unclear why the prosecutors took three more months to raise indictment, including several cases of criminal vehicles that cause Victoria Harwell's death. During a short court last week, the judge interviewed the prosecutors after the delay.

The White House criticizes Hennepin County, says that suspect is “illegal immigrant”

What the White House says:

The White House said that the federal immigration officer put up a prisoner on Langari Inga in August and asked for prison to keep him about his immigration status. The prison ignored this request and finally released it.

In an explanation of Fox 9 last week, the White House said: “An illegal immigrant drove drunk, killed an innocent mother and was on the run because the Democrats did not do their most important job: protect their voters.”

What the sheriff says:

In response, the Hennepin County's office said: “The Hennepin County's office works with all federal, state and local partners at criminal investigations and to enforce criminal laws. An ice range is not a clear arrest warrant, and the courts have determined that they are unconstitutional.”

What the HCAO now says:

After Langari Inga's ice arrest, the public prosecutor's office of the Hennepin district published an explanation to Fox 9 with the inscription: “Justice belongs to the community that was damaged.”

The declaration continued: “When the federal government has removed people who have caused damage, our community and victims are denied the justice they have earned. As a public prosecutor, it is our responsibility to ensure accountability that prioritizes public security, and this is in direct resistance to this mission.”

The office said that it is currently waiting to hear from ice whether the state case may be continued.

Fox 9 turned to ice and the White House to get further comments, but did not hear anything back on Monday.
