Brad Stevens weighs Jaylen Brown's knee injury, Future with Celtics

BOSTON -Jaylen Brown had an up and down season. There were the heights: a 36-point explosion in which Jayson Tatum in game 2 went against Orlando Magic, a 26-point excursion of 26 points to keep the Celtics 5 against the New York Knicks.

And there were the deep stalls: 7 sales in the last game of the Celtics, a loss of blowout in Madison Square Garden and 35% shoot over the first two losses of the Celtics, in which the Celtics have lost successive 20 points of 20 points.

With all of this, it was obvious that Brown played knee pain – pain that the Celtics initially described a rise of the right knee, but was later reported as a partial meniscus tear by ESPNS Ramona Shelbourne. According to the report, Brown will be rated this week to determine whether an operation is required.

On Monday, Stevens addressed the media for the first time since the elimination of the Celtics and gave a positive insight into Brown's situation.

“The knee is structurally in a good place,” said Stevens. “I think he felt comfortable to get out and go afterwards, and hopefully he will feel better after he is removed from it for a few weeks.”

And while General Manager of the Celtics did not expressly said that the operation was at the table that he was express act Let me know that the partially torn meniscus was not a new information.

“It was something he had for a while and it was stable and he played with it,” said Brown. “These are some scans through and through. We have known it for a long time, and he has known for a long time.”

Brown did not miss a post -season games, although he was against magic in the injury report for the last three games of the Celtics. He also missed 11 games with the injury in the second half of the season.

And before the series against the Knicks, Brown said he felt that he had 100%to do the corner. Stevens implied that these comments were not just the art of play.

“All of you have seen it in the past few weeks,” said Stevens. “I thought it was getting better and better. I think he actually felt better, or at least he told me that he felt better at the end of the Knick's series.”

Stevens attributed Brown's wish to play through the violation of his warriors -which Brown and his teammates spoke many times all year round.

“Jaylen wants to play,” said Stevens. “Jaylen is a competitor. Jaylen is a warrior. Jaylen is very proud to be out there.”

What the Celtics expect from Jaylen Brown next season

After Jayson Tatum is expected that he is the most – if not all – the next season with an Achilles break, it is likely that Brown will have to take on a larger role at both ends of the soil.

This season, the Celtics were 8-2 without Tatum in the regular season and 2-1 in the playoffs. In these games, Brown achieved an average of 24.2 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.7 assists.

Stevens made it clear that his confidence in Brown's ability to lead the team without his co-star.

“I am fully convinced that you have every game you have on the pitch or one of these people on the pitch, you have a great shot,” said Stevens. “And so I have full confidence in Jaylen.”
