Rants against Draisaitl and McDavid is one of the matchups that can be seen in the NHL conference final

After a day without a playoff hockey, the chase for the Stanley Cup is resumed with the beginning of the conference final – and the star power, which is still directed into disputes, is out of the charts.

Leon Draisaitl is the betting favorite to win the Conn Smythe Trophy as a Playoff MVP after he and Connor McDavid defended the defending Western Conference Champion, Edmonton, with two series against hard opponents. This is also partly the case, since the Oilers are according to BetmGM Sportsbook Cup favorites.

Mikko Rantannen leads all goal scorers in the post -season with 19 points in 13 games to bring the Dallas stars to a West -Finfinzampf against the Oilers, from which they hope that this time they will go in the other direction.

“You have one of the best playoff players of all time in Mikko Rantannen in your line-up, and that could be a factor that enables you to make your story different this year and to beat the oilers,” said the retired defender and the three-time cup champion Ken Daneyko. “He is a money player. He is tall, he is strong, he is built for it.”

McDavid and Draisaitl

Edmonton's antidote against the rantons and the Finns – Mikael Granlund, Roope Hintz, Esa Lindell and Healthy Miro Heikan – are the combination of McDavid and Draisaitl. They have 17 or 16 points and will be the focus of the stars in the series.

“You are another team this year,” said Stars coach Peter Deboer. “You are a deeper team this year last year. You can see that many other places than McDavid and Draisaitl can be achieved, and of course you still have this element every evening.”

Yes, 16 different skaters have scored a goal for the Oilers, but they will probably only go to No. 97 and 29. McDavid was Playoff MVP a year ago when she forced game 7 in Florida and remained shortly before the championship, and he could bring his teammates onto his back to return to the final.

'Dangerous' florida

The Panthers needed seven games to get through the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second round, but they have a champion against Carolina again. BetmGM preferred Florida to achieve a third cup final in a row.

“Nothing makes them impressed: they don't care where they play, who they play,” said Daneyko. “This is a dangerous animal. This is a confident pile and rightly so.”

The trading deadline -Pickups Brad Marchand and Seth Jones played a major role in the routing of the Leafs in game 7. The goalkeeper Sergei Bobrovsky also looks in one year after he returned the Panthers to Franchise history.

Otter vs. Skinner

The goalkeeper Matchup in the West could determine the series. Jake Oettinger was not at its best for the stars in the final of the conference a year ago and was actually surpassed by Stuart Skinner, who lost his job as Oilers' starter at the beginning of these playoffs.

An injury to support Calvin Pickard Skinner online back online against Vegas. All he has done since then is Stop 67 of the 71 shots with which he was confronted with consecutive failures to close the series.

“He is as hard as every goalkeeper with the way he crashes back,” said Daneyko. “Oettinger is the constant person for Dallas and one of the best goalkeepers in the league. Many people think that they have a small advantage there. But Skinner rises on this occasion.”

Oettinger allowed 12 goals at 170 shots in six games in the second round against Winnipeg, including only two in the third period of all series.

Svechnikov Showcase

The biggest reason for the assumption that the hurricanes can beat the Panthers this time after they were swept two years ago, Carolina's top line of Andrei Svechnikov, Sebastian Aho and Seth Jarvis.

Svechnikov scores eight goals, one of roments in the playoffs, including the series in game 5 of the second round against Washington. Trainer Rod Brind'amour said that they had been waiting for this version of Svechnikov, and the number 2 election for 2018 came for themselves at the age of 25.

“He was just great, there is no question about it,” said captain Jordan Staal. “He was there every evening, shot on the puck and was physically and is difficult to play. As a playoff player we know that he is. It's great to see the puck for him. He will continue to lead our group.”
