Friend who was arrested in connection with an accident in whom the 4-year-old child was killed in Mississippi

Lincoln Co., Miss. (Wlbt) – A man was charged with a heavy DUI in connection with an accident with a vehicle that led to the death of a child in Lincoln County.

According to the Sheriff of the Lincoln County, the fatal crash occurred on February 18 in the Bogue Chitto Road.

The 4-year-old child, Lincoln Carona, died days later after he was brought to the Mississippi University.

On May 17th, the driver of the car, Devin Merrill, was arrested and charged with severe DUI. He received a bond of $ 100,000 and requires an ankle monitor if it integrates.

The sheriff's office says Merrill was the friend of Lincoln's mother.
