Father, who is charged because of the death of the “tortured” child, does not guilty

Gaffney, SC (Fox Carolina) – A man who was charged because of the death of his newborn son appeared in court on Tuesday for a hearing.

Malachi Tate was arrested in 2023 after taking the 3 month old Malachi Tate Jr. to the Cherokee Medical Center. The investigators told them that the baby was initially injured in the fall, but the forensic doctor said that the child's injuries did not agree with this claim.

“The deadly injuries to this child are undoubtedly of abuse, said County County Coroner Dennis Fowler at the time.” It seems that this child may have been tortured, and it makes me sick on my stomach that a helpless child has suffered from someone and lost his life through someone who had a total clashing for a person.

Tate was charged with a child for abuse/decay of great assault. However, the indictment was upgraded to murder/murder by child abuse. He is also accused of submitting a firearm.

During the hearing on Tuesday, Tate did not guilty and said that he wanted a legal proceedings for both.
