Parents arrested after the death of a six -week -old baby

Nelson County, va. (WDBJ) -Zwei parents were arrested on May 20, 2025 after the death of their six-week-old baby in 2024, according to Nelson County's sheriff office.

The MPs of Nelson County and the emergency services reacted to a residence in the Taylor Creek Road in Afton, VA, for a non -reacting six -week -old baby on December 10, 2024. According to the members, a few minutes before the child to the UVA Medical Center made an HLW through the HLW.

According to MPs, the baby was declared dead in the hospital on December 14, 2024. The MPs say that an autopsy was completed in the Chief Medical Examiner Richmond office and the results were completed in March 2025.

After the UVA medical experts had checked the medical documents and the report of the Chief Medical Examiner office, it was found that the baby's injuries of December 14, 2024 agree with child abuse.

The Sheriff's office in Nelson County received arrest warrants for the baby's parents.

The parents Ethan Garfield and autumn Woods were charged with abuse/neglect of children and crime murder. They were brought to the regional prison of Albemarle Charlottesville without a commitment.
