The community in New Jersey remembers the 13-year-old, who was killed in the crash of Egg Harbor Township

A community in New Jersey came together to pay tribute to 13-year-old Mu'zahir Moore, who was killed in an accident in Egg Harbor Township at the weekend.

“He was only 13 years old,” said Leonard Robinson, Mu'zahir's uncle. “He had a lot to live.”

Family, friends and many in the sports community of South Jersey remember Mu'zahir, who was better known than “Mu”.

At the age of 13, his uncle says that the teenager had made a name for himself both on the basketball court and on the soccer field.

“He was looking forward to going to the college, going to the high school, everything that young athletes dream of,” said Robinson. “He was a bright point, a very bright point.”

Mu died of his injuries in the hospital. His friend suffered minor injuries and was treated on site.

“He was dominant. He was something special on and next to the field, on and next to the basketball court,” said Tory Cavalieri with South Jersey Select Basketball program, “but he had something about him that every teacher and every trainer who trained him told him the same thing, his smile was infectious and his workforce was second.”

Cavalieri said he had trained since third grade.

“His name was out there to scouts and coaches who already keep an eye on this eighth grade class,” said Cavalieri.
