Clock: Rubio pushed Trump's acceptance of 400 million US dollars from Qatar

Foreign Minister Marco Rubio stood on Tuesday by Senator Chris Murphy, D-Conn, on questions about the acceptance of a gift from Qatar by President Donald Trump-a plane of almost $ 400 million, Air Force One will replace.

Take a look at the video in the player.

“Is it your understanding that this luxury plane that Qatar has offered to the president and the president has announced that he is ready to accept is a gift to the United States government?” Asked Murphy in a hearing in the Senate. “Or is it ultimately a gift for the president himself that he can use in his library?”

Rubio said Murphy had to ask the Ministry of Defense, but the plane was either “a replacement or at least a temporary bridge plane” for the new Air Force one. The US air weapon operates the Air Force one, said Rubio.

“In my understanding of this, it was basically from the beginning that it was an airplane that was identified after talking to Boeing about which other aircraft all over the world would fit the bill that could now be used there,” said Rubio.

Murphy asked about the status of the aircraft after Trump left the office.

“I am not involved at this level,” said Rubio. “What I have heard is that this plane replaces air force one, which is an air force level.”

Murphy showed several topics with Rubio, including the aircraft, the cryptocurrency interests of the Trump family and the recent journey of the President to the Middle East, where the Trump family has business interests.

The acceptance of the aircraft from Qatar has raised ethical questions and national security concerns through legislators and lawyers.
