The patient shares memories of Cottage Grove chiropractor who were killed in the crash

Cottage Grove, Wis. (WMTV) – One patient shares her experiences and interactions with the Cottage Grove chiropractor, who died in an accident on Monday evening.

Johanna Shriver said Dr. Kami Hansen was comforting and always had a smile on his face.

Shriver lives not far from the landmark and Michelle Lane, where the crash took place.

“Unfortunately I saw the police the night before, so I knew something had happened, but the clinic actually posted on Facebook that it was the one and it was just so shocking and devastating, so incredibly sad,” said Shriver.

Dr. Hansen was a chiropractor, a mother, a woman and a friend for everyone.

“Everyone has to hear what kind of wonderful person she was because she deserves to be remembered,” said Shriver.

Although she Hansen knew for two years, it felt like a lifetime.

“She is someone who takes care of all of her patients, takes care of her community, she was known in her community,” said Shriver. “Everyone knows who she is and she is a warm inviting person.”

The two developed a connection through their joint experiences as parents.

“We both talked about our children all the time,” added Shriver. “Our children are about the same age. We have just talked about what we will do for the spring holidays. It is very easy to obtain because we have all children. This is also really sad that their children are alone.

Shriver's heart goes to the family.

“I only send them love and support and I know the whole community of Cottage Grove. Last night we had a small campfire for which we remember them. They all simply know that we are there for them,” said Shriver.

Shriver explained that the residents of the region are concerned about the intersection where the crash took place. A petition circulates to reinstall a stop sign that the residents say that they once stood at the intersection of Landmark Drive and Michelle Lane. The petition already has more than 400 signatures.

Cottage Grove's Village Board President says she is obliged to open dialogue and transparency. Cindi Kelm-Nelson said that she had checked the petition and signatures submitted by many parishioners who ask the village to respond to this accident.

“All village departments operate a sensible dialogue and take appropriate measures that are guided by guidelines and procedures. Our police authority, public work teams, engineers and employees actively assess intersections, including those near the accident,” explained Kelm-Nelson. “You will first be checked as implementable recommendations by the corresponding village committees before they are brought to the village board for the final examination and decision -making.”

She said that building relationships with neighbors is at home the Cottage Grove Community.

“When your village president I hear her concerns and I am still obliged to work together to maintain a safe, networked cottage Grove for everyone,” said Kelm-Nelson.

Dr. Hansen's husband announced 15 news that his son had a successful operation on Tuesday evening. His son is now on the way to recovery.

Dr. Hansen's sons play for the Madison Kennedy Little League and the organization offers support for the family. They demand donations from the community.

The league leaders also plan to donate part of their concession sales from this week to the family.
