Pagenaud, who returns to motorsport after serious injury in 2023. Find a new career outside the car

Indianapolis-Simon Pagenaud's career was shortened in short races in the 2023 season when he was seriously injured in a crash, which caused the symptoms in connection with conceals of the brain, against which he fights almost two years later.

He does not want compassion, no pity and likes to look back on a career in which he won the Indianapolis 500, an Indycar championship, 15 races and Rolex 24 in Daytona.

He also does not want to think about his personal health, which was a frustrating roller coaster ride of improvements, setbacks and constant rehabilitation in order to return to normality and enjoy life with his wife and two small children.

But the Frenchman will never be able to shake the motorsport bug, and he has a goal of one day to return to a form of races, because what does a racing driver have?

At the moment he fits a slow comeback that started last year when Team Penske driver Scott McLaughlin Pagenaud asked to be his driver trainer at Indianapolis 500. It was not as easy as he had hoped for because everything, from his vision to the noise on Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the vibration, as cars, such as cars, in the Timing -Timing stand of the team, and the Timing standing stands of the team -Penske -Tenke -Ttenke -Stezenbahn felt.

Nevertheless, McLaughlin has returned to him this year when Pagenaud is trying to find a career outside the racing car.

“Last year he didn't know how he would feel with the noises, but he definitely feels much better,” said McLaughlin. “I really like to work with him and bring him back to the Speedway, brought him back to something he loves. He is also really intense. His preparation is the next level.”

It is just the start for Pagenaud's transition: Théo Pojire, a French colleague, announced on Tuesday that Pagenaud will be his representation when Poomaire is trying to make full time to race in the USA.

“I don't want to be involved with the management of 30 drivers, but I want to deal with the best,” said Pagenaud. “I want to go to teams with a man I know. I don't want to put my name on someone and then let a team come back to me and say that he didn't appear, the guy was not good enough. I have to be selective, and for myself I think theo can be one of the best.”

But that's not all for Pagenaud, which was contacted by Chevrolet and was asked to do simulator for the manufacturer in a real case of “exactly what the doctor ordered”.

“I had no idea whether I would be useful, but I was very attracted to the idea and my doctors were very enthusiastic about the chance to test myself on a moving simulator,” he said. “I will not lie – it was a big challenge personally – but it was great to have a reference to have a new reference where I was and how much I fought for different things.

“And we decided that we would do this a bit more. It was very useful for my recovery. It was probably the most useful therapy that I had, and when I reconnect through therapies, physiotherapy, eye coordination, again, connect the bridges in the brain again, things that were not as seamless as they were before.”

Pagenaud is also open to a more formal role with the former team team Penske, where he spent seven seasons and time with her sports car program. Team President Tim Cindric has not shown any role within the organization.
