Mann for murder, child abuse after the baby charged with brain injury :: Wral.com

A man is in prison on Tuesday after the MPs killed a baby in Cumberland County.

According to the Sheriff office of the Cumberland County, the MPs went to the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center on Thursday, May 8th, after hearing that a baby had suffered a traumatic brain injury.

The baby died the next day. An autopsy of the Chief Medical Examiner of the North Carolina tester found that the death of the baby was a murder. During their investigation, the MPs learned that the baby was in the care of the 21-year-old Darrell Lamar Evans Jr. before the baby was taken to the hospital.

The deputies arrested Evans and accused him of the first degree murder and crime. He is currently under no bond in the Cumberland County Detung Center.

Evans' first court appearance is planned on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
