Lorena High Student Landon Harris killed under three at the frontal collision on US 77 in Lee County

Lorena, Texas (KWTX) – The 18-year-old Landon Harris, a beloved student of the Lorena High School, was killed in Lee County on a frontal collision on May 20.

“With deep sadness we share the news of Landon Harris, a student of the Lorena class from 2025,” wrote Matt Rambo, director of the Lorena High School, in a letter to the parents. “He was a beloved classmate, teammate, son, brother and important member of our student community.”

“In the time of this great loss, we ask the Lorena community to use the opportunity to honor Landon life with our unity, respect and perseverance.”

The collision occurred around 7 a.m. on the USA 77 in Lee County near the Milam County Line.

Harris and Jarrett Hawkins (36) drove south in a Toyota Tacoma on the highway when the Tacoma entered the north and hit a pickup from the Dodge Ram.

The driver of the Dodge Ram was identified as a 49-year-old Daniel Phillips.

All three people were declared dead at the crime scene, said DPS.

A gofundme was set up to help Harris' family.
