Parents, students shocked after the man killed near the DC Elementary School's Track meeting

The search for three suspects who say according to the police say that he shot a man near a crowded children's sports events will continue on Monday evening.

The car they drove was not found far from the shootings in the northeast of DC

We know the following:

The DC police say that they are looking for three suspects who have driven to a man who went in the northeast in the 26th Street, and shot it directly around 2 p.m., next to a route full of dozens of primary school children.

Detectives say that suspects drove the 26th towards H Street and shot the victim. There are a number of schools in the region, including Charles Young Elementary and Two Rivers Charter School.

Shortly after the shootout, the police found the car used by the shootings, about four miles away in the city of Fort Lincoln in the city.
Police chief Pamela Smith does not believe that the shootout was connected to the track meeting.

“It's very frustrating,” said Smith. “No child should ever experience what has been experienced today. Today's incident was completely unacceptable. During a primary school meeting, individuals open up the lives of our children. Every use of a firearm in our community, especially close to our schools in our children, is unacceptable.”

Parents say that there was security in the field.

What you say:

Fox 5 was only a few moments after shooting with parents and children who had seen the chaos.

“I would never think that I would see my daughter for her track meeting and that happens. I'm pretty scared,” said parents Shayla Nunez.

They say that this is traumatized for students – what a championship meeting should be became a crime scene.

“You just don't expect it,” said Wanda Bieloszabski. “I can't believe that it actually happens to us.”

The students were also stunned and shaken by the incident.

“I thought it was a flare weapon, but it was like five times, so I knew that it wasn't like the Flare weapon,” said a boy to Fox 5.

Some were grateful that they were trustworthy when the shots were.

“I was on the other side of my team and just wanted to go out of the goal and then the lady got me and she held me tight,” said one of the young runners to Fox 5.

They were all on the Spingarn Track Field in the 26th Street, directly on the Benning Road, near the Langston Golf Course.

What we don't know:

In this current moment we have no age or the name of the man who was shot. The investigators are still working to identify him.

The police have not presented any descriptions of the suspects. Everyone with information is asked to call it.
