Tornado clock for parts of Northern Georgia in force

A tornado clock applies to parts of Northern Georgia, since strong to heavy storms get from the west.

A Tornado watch applies to Bartow, Catoosa, Chattooga, Cherokee, Dade, Dawson, Fannin, Floyd, Forsyth, Gilmer, Gordon, Lumpkin, Murray, Pickens, Union, Walker and Whitfield until 2 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

An improved risk (level 3/5) is valid for the rest of the region for a large part of the western part of the state with a slight risk (level 2/5). Tornados, harmful winds and great hail are all possible because these storms are all overnight. The line is expected to become weaker, but can continue to exist east than originally expected.

Strong to heavy storms have produced tornados and harmful winds in the west in the last hours, and they will push to Georgia after sunset

The storms are expected to move to northern Georgia at 9 p.m., with the majority of the activity taking place from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. The worst is expected on site from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. in the northeast of Georgia.

Stay the weather tonight!
