Philippines to use the Korean -speaking police in response to the wave of crime

The anti-organized crime commission (PAOCC) announced the measures on Tuesday, the Filipino Star newspaper reported.

It is said that the desks in police stations are placed in areas with considerable Korean population groups.

According to online media -outlet Brigada News, the civil servants assigned by the desks will complete a fundamental Korean voice training with the support of South Korean official.

Gilbert Cruz, Managing Director of PAOCC, said the initiative aims to improve the interactions between law enforcement authorities and Korean -speaking visitors and residents.

Police patrols are also increased in areas with a high concentration of South Koreans. Most South Korean citizens in the Philippines live in expat -friendly cities such as Manila, Angeles and Cebu, which are also popular travel destinations.
