“Armenian organized crime groups are usually the quiet ones,” said Hal Kempfer, a former intelligence officer. “You don't hear much about you. One of the reasons is that you are very sophisticated. You tend to concentrate on crimes that attract less attention. The Russians, on the other hand, are notoriously violent.”

The Armenian crime group is also accused of bank fraud, cable fraud and freight theft. According to the duly documents, they are accused of having rejected and stolen cargo cars with millions of dollars from Amazon.

“We will see whether more of it, but a lot of Russian organized crimes is associated with Russian secret services,” said Kempfer. “It is like any other business. There is a part in which they compete and there is a part in which they work together. The Armenians were always good at working.”

“The investigators of the Buranken police authority have spent hundreds of hours to examine these hideous violent crimes,” said Rafael Quintero, chief of police from Burbank. “The police authority of Burank is grateful for the support of the law enforcement companies and the US law firm for their work to hold these people accountable for their actions.”

“Today's arrests reflect that my office and our law enforcement partners have undertaken to protect America by reducing transnational criminal organizations,” said Bill Essayli, the United States lawyer. “Let today's enforcement measures be a warning for criminals: Our communities are not their playground to operate violence and fight.”
