Sammy Hagar pays homage to Eddie van Halen in video for 'Encore, thank you, good night'

With the kind permission of Big Machine Rock

Sammy Hagar said that his newly published single “Encore, thank you, good night” was inspired by a dream he had Eddie van HalenThis is exactly what he shows in the video for the song.

In the clipSammy wakes up from a dream and writes the song on a pad next to his bed, whereby the video cuts on old home video film material from him and Eddie. There is also someone who looks like Eddie who wears his characteristic Red Frankenstrat guitar guitar and goes to a bright light.

The video then becomes a performance clip with Sammy, which is supported by its current band, Joe Satriani On the guitar, van Halen's Michael Anthony On the bass and Kenny Aronoff On the drums. In another tribute to van Halen you can hear crowd chants from “Eddie” during the performance.

The video ends with an old home video clip from Sammy, who just says: “Thank you.”

“This song is my last arc in this part of my life,” said Sammy, referring to his time with Van Halen. “It shouldn't be more than a thank you-with love, respect and with a hell of guitar solo.”

Sammy will start his residence in Las Vegas, the best of all world tour in Vegas – on Wednesday in Dolby Live at Park MGM, where he will perform the song live for the first time. A complete list of the data can be found under Redrocker.com.
