The Atlanta police identified the tattooed woman who was shot in a forest area near Crest Lawn Memorial Park on Easter Sunday. According to the authorities, the victim is 20-year-old Angela Yajahira Cortes Villegas from Utah.

What we know:

Villegas was discovered shortly before 6 p.m. on April 20 in the 2000 block of the Marietta Boulevard NW after the officials answered reports on a non -reacting person. She had been shot several times and was declared dead at the crime scene.

First of all, the investigators were looking for the help of the public to identify the young woman by publishing photos of her distinctive tattoos: an eye on her right wrist, a height and musical note on her left wrist and a bird with a flower on the left thigh. The police did not say whether these tattoos have contributed to confirming their identity.

“This young lady deserves to have someone who knows where she is,” said Terrie Nelson of Crest Lawn, who found that a death like this is unknown to the history of the cemetery.

What's next:

The examination remains active and continuous. While the police did not publish any information about potential suspects, the employees in the cemetery have reported earlier troublesome encounters with an unknown man in recent months. The employees described him as warlike and said that he had disturbed a service, a mourning family member and threatened the workers. It is unclear whether this man is connected to the murder.
