Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA (NVDA), said that the US export controls for artificial intelligence (AI) chips to China in comments in which curbs criticized under the bid administration are a “failure”.

“All in all, export control was a failure,” said Huang on Wednesday at the ComputerTex Tech Expo in Taiwan, as a Reuters report shows. “The basic assumptions that led to the AI diffusion rule at the beginning have primarily proven to be fundamentally incorrect.”

The AI diffusion rule was issued in January at the end of Joe Biden's presidency, whereby the compliance requirements are to enter into force on May 15. However, the Trump administration announced last week that it will raise the rules and that the Office for Industry and Safety would instead spend a replacement rule in the future.

According to Computex, Huang said that the AI market in China would have a value of around $ 50 billion (37.3 billion GBP) next year.

“The USA should maximize the speed of AI diffusion,” he said reports. “Because if we don't, the competition will come.

“China has 50% of the AI developers in the world, and it is important that they develop in an architecture on Nvidia or at least American technology.”

At the beginning of the Computex event this week, Huang revealed details about a series of announcements on new technologies, including its developments in the humanoid robotics and the custom AI infrastructure.

The stocks of Nvidia were hardly changed on Wednesday morning in the trade in the pre -market.

Another important Tech event in focus this week is the annual I/O developer conference from Google, which began on Tuesday with a flood of announcements.

A highlight was developments related to Google's AI agent products for using online purchases. AI agents have turned out to be an important trend in the Tech world. Microsoft (MSFT) outlines his vision for the room at its annual Build conference on Tuesday.

The Google agent fund is used as part of the shopping functions as part of the AI mode, a search function that was presented on Tuesday and is now available to users in the USA.

AI mode is a dedicated search option in chat bot style, which is now available on the standard Google search page in addition to tabs such as pictures, videos and messages.

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and his parent company Alphabet (Goog, Googl), said that the update was a “total reinterpretation of the search”.
