A 25-year-old man from Burton was killed on the I-75 in Oakland County on Tuesday evening after he got out of his disabled car and was hit by two vehicles, officials said.

According to the Michigan state police, the soldiers reacted to the motorway near the Grange Hall Road in Groveland Township on a report on a traffic accident with injuries and found the man dead. A preliminary investigation shows that the man was too fast in a construction zone, checked his car and took the right shoulder, where his vehicle was hindered. He left his car and stood next to it when another vehicle met the disabled car and the Burton man. A third vehicle then hit the Burton man. He was declared dead at the crime scene.

No further injuries were reported, said MSP.

The drivers of the other two cars stopped at the scene and cooperated with the examination, the MSP.

A route of the I-75 was closed for the examination for the examination and reopened without further incident.

“I can't say that enough, stay in your car when you are involved in an accident,” said MSP Lt. Mike Shaw. “The pedestrian who was not injured during the first crash lost his life because he stood on the street after this crash. Stay in your vehicle, stop your seat belt and call 911.”

Shaw said that Burton's man had no passengers in his vehicle. His name was not published.
